1.Other than these marks, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Isuzu, Mazda, Mercedes, Mercury, Nissan, are any other comapanies such as Subaru planning to make e85?
2. How is e85 made. What is it made out of other than corn?
3.Are there any pros and cons about e85?
4.Like the hydrogen fuel cell car can i make home made e85? Can i make a mini car and test?
E85 is fuel that is 85% ethanol (alcohol from corn and/or soy beans) and 15% gasoline. The major problem is that turning the corn into alcohol uses more energy than there is in the alcohol and causes more pollution than making refining the same amount of gas. The second problem is that since alcohol has less energy potential than an equivalent amount of gasoline the power derived from E85 and the miles per gallon (MPG) your car will get is 15 to 20% less than it is when the same car is operated on gasoline. Yes you can purchase E85 more cheaply than regular gasoline but you'll use more of it to drive the same distance so that, in the long run, your savings are nil. The third problem is that so much corn and soy beans are being used to produce E85 that the price of food based on corn and soy beans has nearly doubled making it much harder than usual for the poor people in the world to survive.
