The FCX is Hondas hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. They will start leasing it for 0/month this summer. My question is, how much does it cost to manufacture the vehicle? They must be providing some pretty serious subsidies…

The vehicles are heavily subsidized as you might imagine. You'll never see Honda quantify their investment in R&D on this vehicle. A comprable analogy would be the GM Impact electric car that became the Saturn EV1. It was estimated at that time (the early 1990's) that each vehicle in the small production run was over $1,000,000 if you added in all the R&D (In 1990 dollars!). That vehicle was the same deal–lease only with no option to purchase at the end of the lease.
I'd love to be able to get one but I'm pretty sure the leases will only be for public utility companies and politicos.
