I want a car that is FUEL effect car, I'm s high schooler about to be in College soon.
MUST HAVES
-carbon fiber body (strong and cheap, like F1 cars) or other strong but cheap body.
-hydrogen fuel cell
– plug to recharge its battery
-can use biofuel
– AND ONLY IF NEEDED GAS
I was looking at the CHEVY VOLT, but i want to know some other cars that are similar, gas only gets like less than 20% of it stored energy.
BY THE WAY MUST BE CHEAP!
Carbon fiber body? yeah thats not really around yet on prodution cars….
Hydrogen fuel cell? Great concept, efficent and all, but hydorgen refueling has to be figured out before anything like that can actually happen
Rechargeable car – Problem with these is that they only go a limited mileage (ie VOLT – if its ever released – only goes about 40 miles) so its not that usful, and plugging it in and charging it all the time will cost a pretty penny in electricty every month too.
Biofuel – has its pros and cons, apparently gas mileage isn't as great with biofuel, and its not wide spread yet either. E85 ethanol aka flex fuel is what GM is pushing nowadays, we'll see how that turns out.
Your not gonna get any of these kinds of cars for cheap though if they do come out and there's a big market for them. hybrid cars are a good deal more expensive then a regular car. Your saying next couple of years, so see how cars turn out by around 2010, im sure there will be something efficient and cheap by then. for now, its not really a reality. If you need a car now though, go for a 08 civic, mine gets like 35mpg.
