i just read that the hydrogen created (by our government) to fuel these cars will be made from fossil fuels, and basically cancel out the cars zero emissions? makes sense, our legs are stuck in oil.

  2. extremedrivr says:

WHY DO YOU GUYS INSIST THAT HYSROGEN IS THE MIRACLE FUEL!! DON’T YOU KNOW THAT SWITCHING ALL VEHICLES TO HYDROGEN POWER WILL PUT THIS COUNTRY TRILLIONS OF DOLLORS IN THE HOLE!! BUT I GUESS I’M NOT SUPRISED THAT YOU WOULD PUT THE ENVIRONMENT AHEAD OF THE ECONOMY!! I MEAN GOOD GREIF PEOPLE!! WE CAN STOP MAKING MOTOR OIL FROM CRUDE OIL, DOUBLE THE FUEL MILEAGE, AND ELIMINATE POLLUTION FROM THE GAS ENGINE!! AND DO THIS FOR LESS THAN 1/4 THE COST OF HYDROGEN!! WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOr?!?!

  3. deftroniks says:

the point is that we are not enslaved by big oil companys and we can breath clean air. freedom my friend that’s what this is about.

  4. winterbaboy says:

Mr Daniel Dingel invented this technology over 40 years ago, someone took advantage his idea, please give him due respect by honoring him.

  5. chairde says:

Hydrogen can be made from natural gas. We Americans have an abundance of natural gas and we already have a nation wide pipeline to every area. So if a small natural gas to hydrogen converter can be made then oil is history. The oil companies can concentrate on natural gas.

  6. rizqferd says:

i love this car, my Indonesia will be more clean and all those oil companies will be history thank you Honda….i’ll get one

  7. extremedrivr says:

What I am saying is that WE NEED TO STOP MAKING MOTOR OIL FROM CRUDE OIL SO THAT OUR USAGE WILL DROP BY 40 TO 50 PERCENT!! Here is a list of 7 companies making REAL-MAN-MADE-SYNTHETIC-OIL as of right now!! AMSOIL(ALL-EXCEPT-XL), Redline(ALL), ROYAL PURPLE(ALL), NEO SYNTHETIC OIL(ALL), LUCAS OIL(HIGH PERFORMANCE OILS ONLY), MIROX CORP.(SYN-LUBE-LUBE-FOR-LIFE-SYNTHETIC-OIL), ROCK OIL(SYNTHESIS 4-SPORT ONLY)!!

  8. extremedrivr says:

Running out of oil won’t happen for well over 100 years in my oppinion!! My oppinion may not mean much, but that’s my two cents worth

  9. extremedrivr says:

I do not believe that we will be running out of anytime soon and aparently you guys don’t seem to be listening to what I have been saying!! I have been trying to make a simple point that ALL GASOLINE POWERED VEHICLES can be polution free, have thier fuel mileage doubled, and have twice the power torque and performance as they do now!! I also have stated that we can make MOTOR OIL WITHOUT CRUDE OIL! Amsoil & Redline have been doing this for decades and yet we still have Penzoil junk, what gives?!

  10. jfsecchi says:

we will “soon” run out of oil, that is why it’s price keeps going up and up… An alternative needs to be found.

  11. Birchybaby says:

    erm…they made it…
it works..its just not gone into production yet cos theres no real safe way of storing it’s fuel, Hydrogen.

    read a book 😀

Every year the U.S. is sending the Arabs 700 billion dollars for oil. I’m not buying into this global warming either, but wouldn’t be better to keep that 700 billion at home instead of buying that oil from over seas. Isn’t the most important barrel of oil the one that u don’t need. Which is one of the reasons for the fuel cell cars. 100% oil free.

  13. extremedrivr says:

HYDROGEN SUCKS!! PERIOD!! WE DON’T NEED TO DUMP THE INTERNAL CUMBUSTION ENGINE JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE SCREAMS CLIMATE CHANGE!! ALL WE NEED TO DO IS ELLIMINATE POLLUTION ON A GAS POWERED ENGINE AND DOUBLE THE FUEL MILEAGE AND PRESTO!! PROBLEM SOLVED!! I AM HALFWAY TO DOING JUST THAT SO I CAN DRIVE WHAT I’VE BEEN DRIVING FOR THE NEXT 75 YEARS IF I LIVE THAT LONG!! THEN MAYBE THOSE DARN ENVIRONMENTALISTS WILL QUIT SCREAMING CLIMATE CHANGE BEACAUSE I’M SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING It!! IT’S PROPOGANDA!!

Not only that, LI-ON batts are extremely low weight and maintain the same discharge rate until they simply die. Charge time is increased as well. Much more efficient. Still, our battery technology is very old relatively, and will be advancing very soon due to industry pressure.

  15. ceriman says:

The combination of electrolyzer, compression for storage, and fuel cell, is only 24% efficient. Charger and battery combined efficiency is 85%. So, going the H2 fuel cell route takes 3 time MORE electricity than a battery electric.

Oh, and LiIon batteries don’t contain lead, are considered “non-toxic”, safe for landfills, and can be safely recycled.

You bet…since I can’t post web links here, just Google: “Australian Scientists Make Huge Automotive Breakthrough in Fuel-Cell Technology”

This was front page in Vancouver since we too are trying to perfect hydrogen fuel cells from Ballar Fuel Cells of Vancouver. This is exciting news for everybody.

  17. Rata4You says:

The Australians have the solution and you can check it out. It’s a solar-hyrdorgen hybrid system operated right out of your own house. In the day the solar system charges the hydrogen converters and creates a steady supply of hyrdrogen. At night, surplus power is fed (sold) into the grid. In the morning you fuel your vehicle up with hyrdrogen and while you’re away, your converter is creating more fuel for later and selling power to the grid. It’s VERY CHEAP when you look at the Australian model

The hydrogen fuel is not explosive, simply because they do not add plutonium to it.Which is the only way hydrogen would be explosive.

  20. Nirklars says:

What I do like about Honda’s vision is their fuel stations for separating hydrogen from natural gas. It does provide a lot more energy efficiency than electrolysis.

As is, pipelines for hydrogen is too expensive to make using natural gas could be a good solution. Because hydrogen embrittle steel pipes, they must be coated with other materials for example carbon alloys.

Transporting bound hydrogen and splitting on site is Honda’s solution to the problem.
